DAY-TIME SLEEP ENHANCEMENT GLASSES FOR NIGHT-SHIFT WORKERS

Melatonin onset and offset is programmed in the brain by the repetition of the daily cycles of the timing of when light enters the eye and when it is absent, and also by the color balance of that light.

Consequently, watching TV before night-time sleep delays the onset of melatonin and thus REM sleep is shallower. But this can be easily addressed by wearing yellow or orange lens melatonin onset eyewear, a few hours before sleep-time.

But what about the night-shift worker who faces a very bright morning dose of sun-light, which is many times brighter than a TV screen?

This is why we sell red lens melatonin onset eyewear, too.

The red lens only allows red and orange light to enter the eye as opposed to an orange lens that also allows some green and yellow light to enter the eye.

In essence, this red/orange/only light is telling the brain that a very profound sunset is occurring and that it is time to prepare for sleep.

To be worn habitually the same time daily a few hours before attempting day-time sleep. (The bedroom should be completely dark).
